A recent vehicle burglary in Norco spotlighted the criminal tactic known as "Jugging," alerting residents to the danger of being watched after withdrawing cash. According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, deputies responded to the incident on July 23, after a victim had cash stolen from their parked car.

The theft occurred near the 1100 block of Hamner Avenue where, after visiting a local bank, an individual stowed a significant amount of cash in their vehicle's console before entering a nearby business. Surveillance revealed that the victim was closely observed by an unidentified female, while an accomplice male forced entry into the vehicle and appropriated the money, as detailed by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. The suspects, before deputies arrived on the scene, made their get-away.

Norco Special Enforcement Team (SET), upon following leads, located the suspect's vehicle in Moreno Valley. Assisting deputies from Moreno Valley Sheriff's Station succeeded in detaining 43-year-old Oscar Javier Piraquive Rubiano and 41-year-old Darly Mercedes Gutierrez Cipagauta. Found inside the vehicle were burglary tools, and clothing items that matched the descriptions from the surveillance.

Charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools, and conspiracy, Rubiano and Cipagauta, who hail from Los Angeles County have been booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center. Each had their bail set at $10,000, as per the sheriff's office. The probe remains active, with no further details unveiled by authorities. Norco Sheriff’s Station encourages anyone with pertinent information to contact deputies Jerad Linzey or Michael Lopez.
