Tragedy struck North Las Vegas shortly after midnight today when a pedestrian was hit and killed at the intersection of June Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard. According to News 3 LV, a 47-year-old man was struck by a white 2012 Ford Fusion sedan while crossing the road, notably outside of a marked crosswalk.
The victim was swiftly transported to UMC Hospital where he succumbed to his serious injuries. The identity of the pedestrian remains undisclosed, pending notifications from the Clark County coroner’s office. The driver, identified as 57-year-old Marc Du Shane Wesley, reportedly remained on scene and subsequently showed signs of impairment.
Wesley has been arrested and is facing multiple charges including DUI resulting in death, possession of a controlled substance, and driving without a valid driver's license. He was booked at the North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center, according to details provided by 8 News Now.
