San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport is ushering in National Aviation Day with lively activities for travelers. Celebrations will commence early on Friday, August 2, in the Terminal 1-Terminal 2 connector, providing entertainment and treats from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. According to the San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport, passengers will be treated to various aviation-themed festivities.
Craig Simon, Director of Aviation at the Port of Oakland, expressed his enthusiasm. "We look forward to celebrating National Aviation Day with passengers at our in-terminal event this coming Friday," he said, per the San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport. "National Aviation Day, established in 1939 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, reminds all of us of the incredible developments that have been made in the field of aviation throughout history."
The event schedule is packed with creative and interactive experiences. Travelers can indulge in crafting and coloring paper airplanes and then test their skills by aiming the planes through hoops. For those who prefer to keep their artwork grounded, a coloring station will be available, with the promise of featured passenger art décor on the airport walls post-event. Additionally, a spread of free popcorn and airport-branded promotional items will be up for grabs for those passing through.
A specially curated aviation-themed music playlist will be accessible via QR code, adding an auditory element to the celebration. For the digitally savvy photo stations for Aviation Day, selfies will help encapsulate the memories. As reported in the airport's Facebook post, the celebrations are designed to capture the spirit of aviation, inviting passengers to a hands-on experience of the wonder of flight.
