A dispute spiraled into deadly violence outside a central Las Vegas convenience store on Tuesday, with one man stabbed to death and another in custody. According to the 8 News Now report, the incident occurred at around 5:31 p.m. at a 7-Eleven on North Rancho Drive near Washington Avenue.

When Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers arrived at the scene, they found a man in his 30s suffering from a stab wound. He was swiftly taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Concurrent with their arrival, officers received a report that a man in his 40s had been shot at the same location. This suspect, who was believed to have been quickly trying to panhandle or loiter before the initial altercation, matched the description of the assailant and was taken into custody at his home.

Details provided by News 3 LV reveal that the conflict began when the victim and a companion drove to the store. While the victim entered the 7-Eleven, his companion got into a 'heated' argument with the suspect outside. The situation escalated when the suspect charged toward the companion, who then fired a gun but missed.

Following this, police stated that the victim left the store and engaged in a verbal altercation that again rapidly descended into violence when the victim and his friend chose to drive away only to return moments later to re-confront the suspect, resulting in a physical fight. It was during this confrontation that the victim was fatally stabbed. The entire ordeal is presently being pieced together by detectives who are reviewing surveillance footage from the store and surrounding area.
