Tragedy struck early Sunday morning when gunfire erupted near Touch of Class Lounge in Bradenton, resulting in one fatality and two other individuals being wounded. The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office reported to the 5100 block of 14th Street West around 2 a.m. after receiving reports of gunshots, as first reported by FOX 13 News. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 30-year-old man in the parking lot, who had sustained a gunshot wound, and despite emergency services' efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Additional information obtained by WTSP revealed that the incident may have stemmed from an argument inside the nightclub, which escalated out into the parking lot where multiple gunshots were fired. In this melee, a man and a woman also suffered gunshot injuries, and were subsequently taken to the hospital, deputies said, they are expected to survive their injuries.
The identities of the three victims have not been released pending notification of next of kin. The Manatee County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident and according to WFLM, no arrests have been made thus far. Detectives have identified several persons of interest related to the fatal confrontation.
