
A tragic head-on collision in the Shadow Hills area near Tujunga has resulted in the death of one individual and left another with serious injuries. The incident occurred on the afternoon of July 18, on the 8400 block of La Tuna Canyon Road, as reported by the Los Angeles Fire Department. KTLA coverage from Sky5 displayed the aftermath showing a silver Kia and a white Dodge sedan, both with considerable damage to their fronts, situated on the roadside.
First responders located one person trapped inside each of the two vehicles upon their arrival on the scene. Using heavy equipment, firefighters were able to rescue a man, believed to be in his 30s, who was later transported to a nearby hospital due to the gravity of his injuries. LAFD's official alert detailed that the extrication process was swift for the seriously injured man, who was found to be still alive but in a grave state. In contrast, the occupant of the second car was found deceased.
The identity of the person who was killed has not been released pending family notification, and the investigation into the precise causes and circumstances of the fatal crash remains ongoing. Officials have not yet determined the cause of the tragic incident, which added another name to the list of lives claimed by the unforgiving paths of our streets.
