Orange County is gearing up to welcome students into three brand-new educational facilities. With classes set to resume on August 12, these new campuses aim to provide relief to existing schools and present fresh learning environments. Atwater Bay Elementary, Luminary Middle School, and Innovation High School, each located within distinct neighborhoods, plan to open their doors for the 2024-25 academic year, as reported by WFTV.
Atwater Bay Elementary, nestled in Winter Garden's Horizon West area, sits on a 15-acre lot. Its capacity is set for 841 students, who will embrace the identity of Little Stingrays. The new institution is strategically positioned to ease the student body numbers at Water Spring and Panther Lake elementary schools. An open house event, offering the public a glimpse into the future of education at this establishment, is scheduled for July 31, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., according to ClickOrlando.
On the other hand, Luminary Middle School, situated in the thriving community of Lake Nona, is aligning its mission with the vision of Igniting minds, inspiring creativity, and illuminating futures. This establishment will fill 18 acres of land with a capacity to educate 1,215 students. They plan to foster a sense of community pride through their wolf mascot. The school invites the community to a sneak peek opportunity on August 6, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Completing the trio is Innovation High School, which also finds its home in the Lake Nona region, east of Orlando International Airport. It stands as a testament to modern educational aspirations, with a name that nods to the Innovation Way corridor it resides. The campus is a formidable size, with the ability to accommodate 3,268 students, proudly bearing the banners of the bulls. A public preview of the school is slated for August 3, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., a move intended to provide relief to the crowded halls of Lake Nona High School, as detailed by ClickOrlando.
