The Osceola County Housing and Community Services Department will convene an Opioid Task Force Meeting on July 29. The gathering, set to take place at 1392 E. Vine St. in Kissimmee, is scheduled to begin at 10 am and conclude by 11:30 am. This meeting marks a continued effort by the county to address the persistent opioid crisis that has affected communities across the nation, including those within Osceola County, according to the county's official announcement.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Title VI, the Osceola Board of County Commissioners is ensuring meaningful access to its programs, services, and activities. To support participation, individuals with disabilities who require accommodations, such as a sign language interpreter or materials in an accessible format, are encouraged to reach out to the County’s ADA/Title VI Coordinator. Similarly, individuals who possess Limited English Proficiency and require language interpreters are also urged to make their needs known. These requests for assistance should be communicated at least four days before the meeting or event.
The formation of this task force is a testimonial to the continued efforts by local government to confront an epidemic that has claimed countless lives and strained the fabric of many communities. The meeting is open to the public, offering a platform for concerned citizens and stakeholders to listen in on the strategies and plans that will be discussed.
Contact details for the County's ADA/Title VI Coordinator remain available for residents requiring special assistance. The coordinator can be reached through the phone number (407) 742-1200, with TTY users advised to dial 711 to access the Florida Relay System, or via email at [email protected].
