Twentynine Palms saw some criminal justice action earlier this week when a wanted parolee was apprehended at a residence on East Court Avenue. On July 16, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Deputies in cooperation with the California State Parole Fugitive Task Force arrested 25-year-old Dakota Blaise-Parra. According to official reports, Blaise-Parra was not only in possession of an illegal firearm but also found with ammunition, making this a significant case in the Morongo Basin area's ongoing enforcement against illegal weapons.
Blaise-Parra had previously been convicted on multiple counts related to firearms offenses and was actively sought for violating parole conditions. When located by law enforcement at his home, he was discovered with an illegal assault rifle and multiple rounds of ammunition within illegal, extended assault rifle magazines.
The suspect was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail under several charges, including being a felon in possession of a firearm and a violation of parole. The sheriff's department has indicated this is part of a tougher push on parole compliance and weapons possession.
