In an incident shaking the relative calm of Sheraden's early hours, police raced to the intersection of Narcissus Ave. and Bergman St. following a ShotSpotter alert for multiple rounds fired. The gunfire, occurring just before 1:25 a.m., resulted in a man being wounded while walking his dog. According to the Public Safety blotter, the victim, an adult male, sustained a graze wound near his right eye when an individual, stepping out of a vehicle, opened fire and subsequently fled.
First responders found the man in a state of consciousness and communication. Despite the injury, he recounted to officers the moments of assault—the abruptness of an attacker's vehicle halting, shots ringing out, a vehicle then hastily retreating.
Medics transported the injured man to a local hospital, stabilizing his condition. Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Police's Mobile Crime Unit methodically processed the scene of the shooting. Investigators unearthed shell casings and documented the collateral damage—a vehicle and several residences perforated by stray bullets.
No arrests have been made as of yet, leaving questions unanswered and a neighborhood wracked with uncertainty.
