The City of Plymouth has announced a new collaboration with Urban Air Adventure Park, aiming to serve individuals with disabilities and sensory sensitivities through a specially designed event called Universal Air. This sensory-friendly play day is set to unfold over two Sundays, July 21 and August 18 from 8-10 a.m. at the Urban Air location at 3580 Holly Lane N., as reported by the city's news release.

Intended to create a welcoming and inclusive environment, the event will feature various attractions devoid of typical overstimulating elements. Participants can expect access to trampolines, a ninja warrior course, indoor playground equipment, and dodgeball games. In a gesture to keep the ambiance calm and accessible, the event organizers will do away with overhead music and flashing or strobing lights, providing a tailored experience for those attending.

To further cater to the needs of individuals with sensitivities, Universal Air will also offer quiet rooms equipped with sensory activities. These spaces serve as a respite for any child or adult needing a break from the play areas, ensuring that all attendees can manage their sensory input and stay comfortable at their own pace.

The City of Plymouth and Urban Air are asking a fee of $20 per child for this unique experience, with pre-registration required—however, there's no cost or registration needed for parents or guardians accompanying children. For those interested, registration details can be found on the City of Plymouth's website.
