Residents of Park Haven Apartments were startled by the sound of gunfire on the night of July 24th. According to a statement released by local authorities, at around 10:52 P.M., police were dispatched to the apartment complex located on the 6900 block of 786th Ave N after reports of a gunshot were heard. Upon arrival, officers set up a perimeter and began to systematically clear the building, searching for any threats. The investigation quickly focused on a specific apartment where evidence of a gunshot through the ceiling of the third floor was discovered. The incident led the police to quickly gather information on a suspect. Efforts to locate the individual caused officers to expand their perimeter when the suspect was spotted attempting to flee the vicinity. The chase was brief, culminating in the suspect being apprehended a short distance from the apartment complex. Police found ammunition on the suspect, which led to his arrest for several weapons-related offenses. An attempt was made to systematically search the area using K9 and drone assistance in hopes of locating the firearm, but it remained unfound.
The authorities are asking anyone with additional information to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
