On the eve of Independence Day, CAL FIRE Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit crews responded to a vegetation blaze east of Santa Rosa, dubbed the #HolstFire, near Holst Road and Los Alamos Road. Initially estimated to cover approximately one acre, firefighters swiftly took to the scene to suppress the fire's potential spread.
As night drew close, the collaborative efforts of the crews began to turn the tides against the encroaching flames; by 10:51 pm, the arrival of dozer 1442 had facilitated a breakthrough as a control line encircled the majority of the fire thereby containing it, a swift move that demonstrated the efficiency and preparedness of the unit which has been consistently sharpening its response to the whispers of fire that threaten our region and its inhabitants.
It wasn't long before the community received news of the crews' victory. Posting a final update at 11:07 pm, CAL FIRE Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit announced, "The fire is contained at approximately one acre." A heartening testament to the crews' effectiveness, ensuring that the residents could retire for the night without the dread of a lurking threat.
