Today's Stars and Stripes Parade, hosted by Centro SA, drew crowds to Downtown San Antonio, where an ensemble of participants, including Mayor Ron Nirenberg and representatives from the San Antonio Zoo and the San Antonio Warriors, celebrated the nation's birthday. Fox San Antonio reported, the procession began at 11 a.m. on Houston Street and concluded at noon after traversing North Laredo, and Flores Street.
Woodlawn Lake Park is hosting the city's official celebration until 9:30 p.m., complete with food trucks, carnival games, and a fireworks display. According to Express News, the U.S. Air Force Band of the West is providing musical entertainment, capping off with a fireworks extravaganza at 9 p.m. Elsewhere, under the Stars & Stripes on Houston Street banner, the festive weekend continues with picnics, film screenings, and a high-tech drone show at the Alamo scheduled for Friday.
For those with a penchant for small-town charm, neighboring communities are hosting their own patriotic celebrations. Alamo Heights carries on its tradition with a parade starting at the west end of Argyle Avenue, while Floresville opens its doors at 3 p.m. at the local Event Center for a day brimming with food, music, and fireworks. Other towns like Boerne, Helotes, and New Braunfels also promise a lineup of parades, live music, and sky-high fireworks displays throughout the holiday weekend.
Whether you're in Bandera for the rodeo, eager to watch the parade at Castroville, or partake in the fun at Comfort Park – it seems every corner of the region is buzzing with Independence Day spirit. Kerrville boasts a free festival with acts like American Aquarium as well as what's billed as the Hill Country's largest fireworks display. Meanwhile, in Seguin, the Biggest Small-Town Fourth of July Parad" promises over 100 entries to entertain the masses before the evening's Fireworks Fiesta.
