Two months have elapsed since San Antonio was rocked by an alarming home shooting that claimed the life of a 4-year-old girl and currently, the quest to apprehend the perpetrators persists unabated. The gunmen, cloaked in anonymity and armor of night, have eluded law enforcement, leaving behind a trail of tragedy and unanswered questions.
On May 8, as dusk fell on the 3700 block of Windsor Hollow, armed with weapons likened to AK-47s, the attackers strafed a home sheltering a family of five. The residence, thereafter peppered with scores of bullet holes, was where young Maryann Marble tragically lost her life, and her family members, including her young brothers and parents, incurred hospitalizing injuries. "My world ended, my stomach dropped," Hector Castillo, the grieving grandfather of Maryann, shared his anguish in an interview with KENS 5.
The Bexar County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) spearheads the ongoing investigation, probing the violent spectacle that unfolded that fateful evening. Following the incident, Sheriff Javier Salazar disclosed the recovery of an abandoned vehicle, believed to have been the get-away transport, found deserted on the west side. "I have no doubt they were after the people in that home for whatever reason and were there to inflict maximum damage," Salazar commented on the attack.
As part of concerted efforts to bring the suspects to justice, BCSO has assembled a special unit, drawing on the specialization of their covert and intel segments, cybersecurity wizards, and fugitive catchers, dedicated to resolving this harrowing case. Asked about the details of the task force, a representative conveyed to KENS 5 the ensemble of teams targeting the investigation's loose ends. Capital murder charges loom over the unidentified suspects, awaiting their inevitable capture and the course of due justice.
Authorities urge anyone privy to details that could shed light on this case to come forward. Help could tilt the scales towards resolution and solace. Information can be relayed by calling (210) 224-STOP.
