San Diego's Oak Park neighborhood was the scene of a tragic incident leading to the shooting death of 25-year-old Andres Dominguez of Poway, San Diego Police have reported. On the night of March 28, police and fire-rescue personnel rushed to a reported single-vehicle accident on 60th Street and Michael Street, only to discover it was the aftermath of a violent crime.
Dominguez was found unresponsive in his crash-damaged vehicle, sustaining a gunshot wound to his upper body. Efforts to save his life proved futile, and he was declared dead shortly after arriving at a local hospital. San Diego Police Homicide Detectives have since been able to painstakingly trace the sequence of events that led to this moment. It is believed Dominguez encountered a verbal dispute that turned deadly when two other individuals fired the gunshot before he attempted to quickly drive away from the situation, leading to the crash.
The suspects, now identified and arrested, are Brayan Morales, 18, Arlene Zaragoza, 19, and an unnamed 16-year-old male. The investigation unveiled that the shooting resulted from a failed robbery attempt. According to official reports, Morales was arrested on Tuesday in the 3100 block of Camino Del Rio North and Zaragoza in the 4000 block of Home Avenue. The juvenile suspect was already detained at San Diego County Juvenile Hall for unrelated offenses. All three now face charges of Murder and Attempted Robbery.
