The San Diego Police Department's Eastern Division is on the lookout for a suspect, or possibly multiple suspects, linked to a series of vehicle thefts in the Mission Valley area. The individual in question is described as a white or light-skinned male in his mid-30s, around 170 lbs., with short brown hair and an unkempt beard. The SDPD has provided photos to aid in identification. The suspect's method of operation included breaking into the River Front Condominiums parking garage on Camino de la Reina, with incidents recorded just after the early morning hour of 3 a.m.
An initial theft occurred on June 20, when the suspects effortlessly gained access to a gold 2003 Toyota 4Runner, per FOX 5. Upon breaching the vehicle, they discovered a fob for an adjacent white 2023 Toyota Rav4 (license plate CA/9LSW832). Both vehicles were reported stolen. Returning just two days later, the culprits managed to robustly make off with another vehicle, this time a black 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee (license plate AL/63A55U9) from the same parking garage.
While the gold Toyota 4Runner has since been located in Otay Mesa, the other two stolen vehicles—the white Toyota Rav4 and the black Jeep Grand Cherokee—remain missing. SDPD detectives are actively investigating these offenses and are keen to pinpoint the responsible party or parties.
Authorities are reaching out to the community for assistance. Anyone with potential information about these incidents or the suspect is strongly encouraged to contact the Eastern Division Investigative Unit at (858) 495-7940. To prevent future incidents, the SDPD also reminds residents to lock their vehicles and ensure that no keys or valuables are left inside.
