A 27-year-old man has been arrested after an alleged robbery at a San Marcos gas station, with an additional charge of assault to complicate his legal troubles, according to local authorities. Jonathan Ledesma from San Marcos was nabbed on Monday, July 29, following a reported aggravated robbery that occurred at the Stripes Gas Station on Hunter Road a week earlier, as reported by CBS Austin.
Hays County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the gas station early Sunday, July 21, at approximately 2:19 a.m. The suspect allegedly managed to quickly leave the scene with $50 and an 18-pack of beer in hand. Through surveillance footage and a description provided by a Stripes employee, investigators eventually pinpointed Ledesma as their primary suspect. The Austin Police Department's Metro Tactical team pitched in to arrest Ledesma, ensuring the situation remained without incidence or additional drama.
Ledesma is now behind bars at Hays County Jail, his freedom curtailed by a $35,000 bond set for the aggravated robbery charge. But his alleged misdeeds don't conclude there. An additional brush with the law comes with a charge of assaulting a pregnant person, courtesy of the Austin Police Department. This additional charge sees Ledesma's potential financial obligation rise, with the bond for this particular offense set at $15,000, according to FOX 7 Austin. Details concerning this assault charge were not forthcoming from the Hays County Sheriff's Office.
