Yesterday morning, a fire erupted in a Santa Rosa apartment complex. However, thanks to the swift action of firefighters, no injuries were reported, and a single dog was rescued amidst the blaze. The Santa Rosa Fire Department received reports of a structure fire on Russell Ave. It arrived at the scene in less than five minutes to confront a two-story building with visible smoke and fire, according to the Santa Rosa Fire Department.
Four engines, one Ladder Truck, and two Chief Officers worked to contain the fire quickly, substantially knocking down the flames within minutes. They searched the building for trapped residents and found none, but they managed to extract a dog safely and reunite it with its owners.
The fire, which appears to have started from a candle burning on a dresser, was contained to the second floor of the affected apartment, as the firefighters acted fast to prevent the spread to adjacent units.
