
Efforts to find a man missing in the Russian River near Villa Grande have stretched into a third day, as search teams resumed operations at sunrise today. The Sonoma Sheriff's Office received a 911 call around 6:17 PM on Wednesday, immediately dispatching deputies and fire district personnel to the scene. Still, the swimmer remains unlocated. According to an update from the Sonoma Sheriff's Office, the initial search was suspended at dusk the same day and resumed the following morning.
Yesterday, with assistance from the Napa County Sheriff's Office and their remote-operated underwater vehicle, the search teams worked throughout the day. However, they stopped again after nightfall due to safety concerns, the same concerns that have caused repeated pauses in the search, creating a rhythm of hope and halted breaths. The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Marine Unit, Dive Team, volunteers, and Monte Rio Fire personnel, have all contributed to the search. The involved agencies have dedicated extensive resources in hopes of finding a resolution.
