Residents of St. Louis Park should gear up for another week of construction as GL Contracting moves forward with the 2024 Alley Reconstruction project. In an update provided on July 26, the company shared details of the work scheduled to kick off the week of July 29. The update, distributed via a government bulletin, provided a breakdown of the progress in various alleys and what residents can expect moving forward.
Alleys F and E are lined up to receive grading work, with Alley F also set to begin the installation of storm sewer drainage. Over in Alley B, the finishing touches are being added; grass seed and fertilizer have been planted, topped with erosion blankets. Residents adjacent to this alley are encouraged to help the new grass take root by watering these areas frequently. This space is slated to reopen to traffic within the same week, allowing for waste receptacles to be returned to their original positions.
Complete work on Alley C, on the other hand, has wrapped up entirely. This is a considerable milestone for the project team and the local community whose daily routines have, no doubt, been impacted. All alleys touched by this project are on track to be completed by the end of August, offering a light at the end of the tunnel for affected homeowners and commuters.
Contact information for anyone seeking further details or wishing to report issues has been made readily available. Project engineer Jack Sullivan and Field coordinator Mark Fremder can be reached for questions or concerns.
