Early Saturday morning in St. Petersburg, an unfortunate incident occurred when a woman was injured by a falling tree branch. According to FOX 13 News, the incident began when a large oak tree branch broke off, striking two houses around 6 a.m. The same morning, a woman stepped outside to inspect the damage and was struck by a second, larger branch.

Efforts by the St. Petersburg police officers and firefighters led to the rescue of the trapped woman. WFLA News reported that she was pinned to the sidewalk before emergency services were able to free her. Subsequently, she was transported to a local hospital where she received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

The woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, was said to have sustained injuries primarily to her legs. WTSP confirmed that despite the harrowing experience, the injuries were not life-threatening. The street where the incident occurred, between 30th and 31st Street, was shut down to facilitate the removal of the fallen tree and to ensure the area was safe for residents.
