The incident began unfolding around 12:40 p.m., with firefighters from both agencies arriving at the unincorporated area of Geyserville, located roughly 18 miles north of Santa Rosa. As described in an update by SFGate, the fire had been established at about an acre. The ground crews' cooperative efforts made the situation manageable, and air resources, initially deemed necessary, were subsequently canceled.
By 1:16 p.m., the situation appeared to be well under control. "Crews are making good progress and have a hoselay around the fire," CAL FIRE LNU's update on the situation reassured community members. The cancellation of air support signified a significant turning point in the firefighting efforts, attesting to the skill and quick action of the firefighters on the scene.
