TruGreen, recognized as the largest lawn care provider in the nation, has announced a strategic shift of its executive office from Memphis to the Nashville area. The new office, set to open its doors in 2025, will be situated in Franklin, TN, specifically in the bustling Cool Springs district. Despite the notable change, TruGreen's presence in Memphis will persist, with a significant number of its workforce remaining situated there.

The relocation is said to bring together leaders who are currently operating across various national offices. TruGreen's decision to move its executive team is part of a consolidation effort, aiming to streamline operations in Tennessee. According to reports from FOX13 Memphis, the Memphis office will continue to operate alongside the new Franklin location, which is expected to become functional in the next year.

However, TruGreen has been careful to clarify the terminology regarding this move. In a statement obtained by The Nashville Business Journal, the company emphasized that the term "headquarters" is not being applied to the Franklin office, signaling a semblance of organizational balance between the two cities. This strategic nuance may reflect on the company's intent to maintain its rooted identity in Memphis while still moving forward with its growth and consolidation plans in Franklin.

Speaking to the economic shift, TruGreen released a statement to Action News 5, stating, "As the nation’s largest lawn care provider, we are excited to be growing and expanding in our home state of Tennessee. Currently, we have leaders in offices across the country and we are consolidating those jobs in our newest office located in the Cool Springs/Franklin area. The sales, marketing and executive teams will be arriving in the new office over the next few months, with the new location expected to open in the beginning of 2025. This is an expansion of our presence in Tennessee and the Memphis office remains. We will have a near-equal split of associates in both locations." The decision underscores the company’s commitment to Tennessee, with plans to distribute its associates nearly equally between Memphis, where about 100 employees will remain, and Franklin, which will become home to some 150 members of its workforce.

TruGreen's standing as the No. 6 largest privately held company in the Memphis area, with a 2022 revenue of $1.51 billion according to Memphis Business Journal research, indicates the significance of its operational decisions for the local economy.
