Heads up, Reserve and commuters: major roadwork is on the horizon for those who navigate Spring Garden Road daily. Allegheny County has announced that the stretch between Beech Street and Williams Road will be out of commission starting at 9 a.m., Monday, August 12, and the disruption is slated to continue until September. The closure's purpose? To make way for essential upgrades that include the installation of four new inlets and repairs to the drainage system.
The Pittsburgh Regional Transit has anticipated the impact of the roadwork on public transport and has re-routed the 7 Spring Garden bus accordingly. During this period, travelers should brace for detours and the temporary suspension of 23 stops on the route.
Residents living within the closure parameters need not fear. They will maintain access to their homes at all times, ensuring that while the roadway is under construction, the pathway to their personal havens remains untampered. On average, Spring Garden Road sees a daily influx of 1,960 drivers, all of whom will now be directed toward alternative routes skirting around the primary artery.
The scope and scale of construction, coming in at $234,639, has been contracted to Pugliano Construction Company, Inc.
