Vallejo firefighters were called into action to combat a vehicle fire that escalated rapidly into a hillside blaze on Avian Drive last Friday. Reports from the Vallejo Fire Department confirmed the incident occurred on the 100 block of Avian Dr. In an efficient response, the first engine company on the scene had to quickly adapt as the fire had already begun to spread to a nearby hillside, threatening local structures.
Additional fire units were rapidly deployed to assist in containing the fire, which was surging uphill towards the Four Square Church and Rainbow Ct apartments. The fire department was able to prevent the flames from causing damage to any buildings in a timely manner.
The cause of the fire has yet to be revealed, as it is currently under investigation. This successful containment resulted from the fast and coordinated response of the various fire companies called to the scene.
