After months at large, Corey Warren, a 45-year-old Vallejo resident, was apprehended yesterday, linked to a fatal shooting from the previous year. According to the Vallejo Police Department, Warren was identified as a suspect in the homicide following an investigation after police were called to the scene of a shooting on September 30, 2023, around 11:33 P.M. on the 300 block of Fairgrounds Dr. The victim, an adult male, arrived at a local hospital with critical gunshot wounds but was later pronounced dead.
Warren was charged with murder by the Solano County District Attorney's Office shortly after the incident, and a warrant for his arrest was subsequently issued. Leading up to his recent arrest, the Solano County Sheriff's Office attempted to stop Warren for a traffic violation. Warren failed to yield and led authorities on a pursuit that ended when he lost control of his vehicle, resulting in a collision with a residential gate. After the chase ended near Cherry St. and Grant St., he was taken into custody without further incident.
Currently held at Solano County Jail on multiple charges that include murder, Warren awaits further legal proceedings.
