The Washington State Patrol (WSP) is actively seeking assistance from the public in locating witnesses to what they describe as a severe rollover collision. The incident in question involved a black GMC Yukon on Interstate 82 near Union Gap, WA, the Washington State Patrol detailed. It took place on the evening of July 6th, 2024, roughly around 8:30 PM.
According to the report, the Yukon lost control while traveling westbound and quickly veered into the median. This incident led the vehicle to roll, coming to a halt near the eastbound inside shoulder. Tragically, one juvenile among the multiple occupants within the Yukon sustained life-threatening injuries. The authorities are now turning to witnesses to possibly come forward with any information they may have - particularly those who may have seen the vehicle before the collision, directly witnessed the incident, or stopped at the crash site.
“The WSP is looking for witnesses who may have witnessed this Yukon driving prior to the collision, witnessed the collision, have information about the collision or stopped at the scene of the rollover crash”, the Washington State Patrol asks. They encourage anyone with pertinent information to reach out, emphasizing the need to understand the circumstances that led to the accident as critical in their ongoing investigation.
The Washington State Patrol has not released details regarding the injured juvenile's condition or any other occupants. Anyone with information is urged by WSP to contact Detective Jim Stairet at (509) 249-6743 or their communication center at (509) 575-2320.
