Woman Fatally Shot at San Antonio Patio Bar, Police Seek Suspect and Motive in Ongoing Investigation

A tragic incident unfolded early Tuesday morning at a downtown San Antonio patio bar where a 29-year-old woman was fatally shot in the back. The shooting occurred at Smoke Skybar, located in the 500 block of Crockett Street, as the victim was enjoying her time outside on the establishment's patio.

According to KTSA news, the unidentified woman was transported to a local hospital following the incident but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. San Antonio Police Department responded to the scene around 12:15 a.m. and are still trying to piece together to fully understand where the fatal shot originated from, speculating it could have been the adjacent parking lot or nearby Interstate Highway 37.

The search for a suspect continues. In a statement obtained by KENS 5, the San Antonio Police Department detailed how the victim was seated on the upper level of the establishment with her back towards the highway when the gunshot was heard.
