An alleged incident of spousal abuse and kidnapping in Adelanto led to the arrest of 27-year-old Miguel Penalosa. Deputies responded to a distress call in the wee hours of Sunday on the 15900 block of Bellflower Street, where they discovered a violent scenario unfolding, as reported by the Victor Valley Sheriff's Department.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner's Department reported that Penalosa had reportedly assaulted his girlfriend before forcing her into an RV parked on the property. This hostility not only imprisoned the victim but also terrorized the household, prompting an urgent call to the authorities. Deputies had to swiftly act to safely evacuate 10 family members from the home and endeavored to persuade Penalosa to surrender peacefully, according to the Victor Valley Sheriff's Department.
After the negotiations failed to yield Penalosa's compliance, the deputies employed pepper balls to force him out. As per the official report, the victim was subsequently found unharmed.
