The Allegheny County police have issued a public appeal for assistance in the investigation into the death of 18-year-old Jordan Nathan Ross Geiger, who was fatally shot in an Ohio Township parking lot. According to a report from WPXI, Geiger was found in a state of cardiac arrest by first responders following a car crash near Gass Road on the evening of August 2. Efforts by witnesses to perform CPR were documented before Geiger was transported to the hospital, where his gunshot wound was discovered and later declared the cause of death by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
The authorities have zeroed in on a particular timeline, seeking videos from anyone who was in the vicinity of the Giant Eagle or Home Depot parking lots between 6 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. on the date of the incident. The police are also trying to identify the occupants of two specific vehicles: a white Chevy Traverse and a blue/gray Honda Accord bearing New York plates. In a plea for community support, According to WTAE, Allegheny County police Lieutenant Venerando Costa stated, "Although there's video at the two stores, there are some blind spots we're hoping the public can help us with."
The Allegheny County police, appreciative of citizens' cooperation, stress that even seemingly insignificant details may prove essential. "We appreciate the public's assistance. Although you can remain anonymous, it's better if you do not," Lt. Costa stated, as per WTAE. "Just come forward with the info you have. Any little bit of info can help." The appeal underscores a larger communal effort to bring clarity and justice in the wake of Geiger’s death. The department’s tipline, 1-833-ALL-TIPS, remains open for anyone with information they think could aid the investigation.
