The Arizona Science Center in partnership with Fry's Food Stores is opening its doors for a weekend at no cost to the public, an initiative aimed to foster educational experiences in the community. Scheduled for Saturday, September 7, and Sunday, September 8, the center will be accessible from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a wealth of activities and exhibits on offer, as reported by the Phoenix New Times.

While general admission is gratis for the visitors, specialized attractions, such as the Irene P. Flinn Giant Screen Theater and the interactive adventures of OceanXperience will require a nominal additional fee of $5 each. "We’re grateful to be able to feed minds and the human spirit by partnering with the Arizona Science Center," Monica Garnes, President of Fry's Food Stores said in a statement obtained by Phoenix New Times.

The free admission aligns with the concluding weekend of OceanXperience, an exhibition designed to elevate awareness and understanding of the world's oceans. Noting the expected turnout, the Arizona Science Center advises attendees to brace for wait times possibly exceeding 45 minutes and to come prepared with ample water for hydration, Travel and Tour World highlights.

Recognizing the importance of community engagement, Guy Labine, The Hazel A. Hare President & CEO of Arizona Science Center, shared his enthusiasm for the event, "We are thrilled to partner with Fry's Food Stores to offer this free weekend to our community," as detailed by Travel and Tour World. The center will implement safety measures, including shade tents and water stations to accommodate guests amidst the Arizona heat.

Details for visiting can be found on both the Phoenix New Times and Travel and Tour World websites, including information on parking and recommendations for using alternative transportation options such as rideshare services or public transit.
