The Austin Police Department is actively seeking public assistance in locating 33-year-old Tyler Steven Lompe, a man linked to a chilling discovery of human remains in South Austin. Lompe, who now bears an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest, is accused of tampering with human remains, an action that punctuates, the severity of this investigation.
In late November, the remains of 30-year-old Jehu Patrick Flores were found in the 1100 block of South 6th Street, in the West Bouldin Creek Greenbelt. According to a report by CBS Austin, the discovery sparked an investigation leading to the arrest and charge of 24-year-old Melcolm Martin Lee, known as "Tanto," for murder in December.
To further the case, the Austin Police Department spotlighted Lompe in their #WantedWednesday campaign. They encourage anyone with information to come forward. The Capital Area Crime Stoppers program remains a critical ally in the quest for justice, providing a safe and anonymous method for tip submission.
The law enforcement’s call for public engagement underscores the gravity of this ongoing situation. A $1,000 reward for information leading to Lompe's arrest has been offered by Capital Area Crime Stoppers, as per Austin Police's X announcement. It is crucial for individuals with any related information, to consider reaching out to assist in the capture of Lompe, and hopefully, to begin to bring closure to those mourning Jehu Patrick Flores.
