Eric Kalif Hubbard, a 41-year-old resident of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, is set to spend the next six years and five months behind bars following a string of firearm possession violations, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office website. The sentence, handed down by Senior United States District Judge David S. Cercone, also includes a subsequent three-year term of supervised release.

The case against Hubbard, a previously convicted felon, unfolded on May 23, 2023, when he fled a traffic stop initiated by the New Brighton Police Department. After a car chase and Hubbard's arrest, officers retrieved a loaded revolver and pill bottles with Hubbard’s name on them from a black satchel found floating in the Beaver River. In the words of the U.S. Attorney's Office, "Federal law prohibits possession of a firearm or ammunition by a convicted felon."

Following up on these events, on July 14, 2023, another traffic stop was conducted by the Beaver Falls Police Department after observing Hubbard operating a vehicle without an inspection sticker. Discovering that Hubbard had a suspended license and was not listed on the rental vehicle's agreement, they proceeded to tow the vehicle, which ultimately led to the discovery of more incriminating items including firearms, ski masks, and gloves after obtaining a search warrant.
