Amid the buzz of summer events, two faces have become increasingly recognized among locals in Bloomington – Jonny and Gage, participating in the city's Growth Through Opportunity Program. According to the Bloomington Police Department's Facebook page, these Cadets have been busy experiencing the many facets of the program, designed specifically for 18- to 21-year-olds with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
By opening doors to new learning experiences, the program aims to foster an understanding of varying job roles and municipal operations. A standout feature of the initiative has been the community integration witnessed at local events, where Jonny and Gage’s presence underlines the program’s hands-on approach. As per the Bloomington Police Department, a special thanks to Officer Daniels for introducing this program to the community.
