Cobb County residents have a unique opportunity this month to connect directly with their Solicitor General, Makia Metzger. Hosting a series of town hall meetings, Metzger is providing a platform for open dialogue and a deeper understanding of the work her office does for public safety. "I’m excited for the opportunity to engage with our residents and deliver the programs we are working on which benefit the public," Metzger expressed, emphasizing the significance of bridging the gap between citizens and their justice system, as reported by the Cobb County Courts news release.
In a commitment to proximity and transparency, the town hall meetings were declared last month, which are slated for various parts of Cobb County throughout August. Designed to run from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., these engagements are scheduled at libraries across the region, readily accessible for community members after the working hours. Unfortunately missing the early opportunity, interested residents still have three chances left to participate in the town halls this month.
The schedule for the upcoming town halls is as follows: On Wednesday, August 14, people can join the conversation at the South Cobb Regional Library; followed by another opportunity on August 21, at West Cobb Regional Library; and the last meeting rounding off the month on August 28, at East Cobb Regional Library. These venues are chosen for their regional significance, offering a comfortable setting for residents to voice their opinions and get informed.
These town hall meetings will cover a spectrum of initiatives and notably, the projects the Office of the Solicitor General has been setting in motion. Metzger's office encourages the attendance of residents, making it clear that understanding how the solicitor's office functions is crucial for the wellbeing of the community at large. "Providing easier access to citizens helps increase a clarity of what we do," in the words of Solicitor General Metzger, her statement reflecting a proactive stance towards civic engagement, according to the Cobb County Courts news release.
