Early Wednesday morning, a robbery report came through in the 800 block of N Wilson Rd, disrupting the routine start of the day for local employees. According to the Columbus Police Department, an individual entered a store with a demand for cash that left workers shaken but unharmed.
The suspect, described as a black male between 45 and 55 years old with a bald head and a medium build, intimidated the clerk while concealing a hand in his pocket. Standing 5'9" and weighing about 160 lbs, the man was last seen wearing a dark camo sweatshirt. In broad daylight, the absence of a visible weapon has not detracted from the severity of this crime he committed.
With a scarcity of leads, the authorities are looking to the public for assistance in apprehending the culprit. The escape vehicle, a small brown car, was seen speeding away from the scene, and investigators at the Columbus Police Department have reached out for any information that may lead to an arrest. "The suspect stated it was a hold-up and demanded money," the employee reported, underscoring the urgency of the event.
Details remain sparse, but officials urge anyone who might have seen something or possesses any information to contact Det—Siers at 614-645-2616 or Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS.
