Residents of Corinth, Mississippi found themselves under a directive from local police, hinting at the chilling reality that unfolded yesterday afternoon. The Corinth Police Department reported an active shooter situation at 601 N. Parkway before later clarifying the incident as isolated. According to a WREG's report, authorities are currently seeking a man identified as Antonious Bean, who is suspected to be connected with the shooting and was last seen leaving the area on foot.
In the Corinth Police Department's Facebook post, referenced by Local Memphis, the Corinth PD urged all citizens within the vicinity to seek shelter indoors and secure their doors, a standard precaution in such critical events. They later informed the public that, after interviewing witnesses, it became evident that the incident, which left one person grazed by a bullet, was not part of a larger pattern of violence but rather a solitary occurrence.
The individual who was struck by the gunfire was lucky to escape with a minor injury, and no other injuries have been reported at this time. Despite the seemingly contained nature of the event, the suspect, Antonious Bean, is considered armed and dangerous, as highlighted in FOX13 Memphis's coverage. The police have emphasised that if Bean is spotted, individuals should not attempt to approach him, but should instead call 911 immediately.
With the suspect still at large, the Corinth Police Department has provided a contact number for anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Bean. Local residents and the wider community are implored to contribute any details they might possess by calling 662-286-3377.
