As the leaves begin to crumple under the brisk autumn strides of Orlando residents, the Creative City Project once again casts its enchanting spell over the expansive grounds of Harry P. Leu Gardens, returning with its dual Halloween installations made to cater to both the young and the delightfully daring of heart. This seasonal transformation into a realm of spooks and spirited festivities stretches from September 27 through October 31, inviting families and thrill-seekers alike to traverse its eerie paths, as reported by Bungalower.
With an emphasis on accessibility for all ages, "Happy Frights" rolls out its welcoming haunt during the pre-dusk hours, starting at 5 p.m. as a family-style trick-or-treat escapade, touting 14 stops each dressed in Halloween whimsy, attendees will be greeted by everything from hip-hop aliens to giant deadly plants, and even a mysterious swamp bloated with "larger-than-life wildlife" according to the Bungalower.
As the sunlight wanes, "Haunting Nights" rises to meet the dusk, flipping the script to offer more mature haunting experiences kicking off at 8 p.m.; this nocturnal component boasts a wandering Bigfoot, a "sexy minotaur" in control of the maze, and a lively Dia de las Muertos celebration that proffers frozen margaritas to the backdrop of live music, aligning with details provided by the Bungalower.
While "Happy Frights" seems tailored to conjure a blend of glee and squeamish delight in even its youngest attendees, "Haunting Nights" caters to an audience seeking a notch higher on the thrill index, Creative City Project promises an experience where a Crazy Carnival and giant spiders lace the evening with their sinister threads, according to the Orlando Weekly.
The Creative City Project's carved pumpkins aren't the only thing going under the knife this fall, ticket prices have been slightly adjusted, starting at $27.90 for those planning to brave the Happy Frights and a small leap to $28 for those delving into the Haunting Nights, tickets are up for grabs online, making it easy for potential guests to secure their spot in what has become a heralded ode to the spine-tingling tradition that wraps itself around the city this time each year.
