Good news for Bay Area party-goers and jazz enthusiasts: Starting in February 2025, Delta Air Lines is boosting its nonstop flights from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) to New Orleans. The Austin airport announced that Delta will commence a twice-daily service, every day of the week, from February 27, 2025, just in time for the Mardi Gras festivities. "The timing of this frequency increase is perfect for Austinites and Central Texans traveling to New Orleans for Mardi Gras and Spring Break," said Ghizlane Badawi, AUS CEO, as reported by the airport’s official news release.

SkyWest Airlines will be operating these new services on behalf of Delta on the 70-seat Embraer 175 aircraft. Delta, which recently established an AUS crew base, will now have one of 17 nonstop destinations from Austin. The Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) is ready to receive more visitors, and travelers can book their trip at Delta.com.

Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, owned by the City of Austin and operated by the Department of Aviation, achieved large-hub status in 2022. It has become an indispensable economic hub in Central Texas, supporting over 74,000 direct and indirect jobs. For live updates on flights, parking, and other convenient services by Austin-Bergstrom, interested parties can visit the airport's website or check out its social media profiles on Facebook, X, and Instagram.

The airport's expansion program, 'Journey With AUS', aims to drive regional economic recovery and support Austin's growth. Promising the creation of job opportunities and local business involvement, including the engagement of Minority-owned (MBE) and Woman-owned businesses (WBE) in contracting, the program is leading necessary construction and improvement projects at AUS. This includes the development of a new midfield concourse and connecting tunnel, which, by enhancing operations, will elevate the passenger experience in the face of rising demand for air services.
