An elementary school teacher from Deltona has been arrested following allegations of inappropriate online communications with a minor. Hernando County Sheriff's Office reports that Michael Ronald Iannaccone, a teacher at Deltona Elementary, was taken into custody after a student revealed unsettling exchanges that took place on an online dating platform.

The incident came to light when a 14-year-old student reported to the Hernando County School District about the troubling conversations. Subsequently, the district informed law enforcement immediately. As the investigation unfolded, detectives ascertained that Iannaccone was aware that the student was underage. Operating from within the school premises at times, online conversations captured Iannaccone discussing various sexual acts with the minor, as per the Hernando County Sheriff's Office Press Release.

On August 6, detectives effectively continued to communicate with Iannaccone using the student's account, during which he shared details regarding sexual acts. The arrest followed shortly after on August 7th as detectives approached Iannaccone at the Hernando County School District office. After his Miranda rights were read, Iannaccone admitted to the explicit communications with the juvenile through the app.

Charged with Transmission of Material Harmful to a Minor by Electronic Device or Equipment and Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device, Iannaccone is currently held at the Hernando County Detention Center. The bond has been set at $4,500. What unfolds next in the wake of these grave allegations against a figure meant to uphold a sacred trust, safeguarding the minds, and the innocence of our children, only time will tell.
