The Magic Kingdom at Disney World is gearing up for a considerable expansion, boasting a new Villains Land where fans of Disney's more notorious characters can revel in chaotic delight. Unveiled during the D23 convention in Anaheim, the upcoming land is poised to bring a "fearless new vision for what a Disney experience can be," according to Josh D’Amaro, Disney Experiences Chairman, as reported by Spectrum News. While the completion date remains under wraps, visitors should expect signature attractions, dining, and shopping all themed around the famed villains.

For families enthused by Pixar's automotive characters, new attractions will be speeding into Frontierland, Magic Kingdom, based on the "Cars" franchise. The project will start its engines in 2025 and promises a rally race for thrill-seekers and a gentler ride for younger guests. Leaving fans in anticipation, a recent announcement was also made regarding Monsters, Inc. Land coming to Hollywood Studios, slated to elevate the guest experience with a suspended roller coaster, kicking off next year, as reported by FOX 35 Orlando.

Disney's roster of properties continues to influence the park's expansions, plans for Indiana Jones, and "Encanto" themed attractions at Disney's Animal Kingdom. These two attractions are setting out to carve a path to mythical creatures and a rainforest adventure, respectively—though particularly, the Encanto attraction is set to open a bit later in Magic Kingdom by 2027. Animal Kingdom guests can also look forward to a "Zootopia"-themed show, dubbed “Zootopia: Better Zoogether,” set to open next winter.

Not to be outdone, Disneyland is inviting guests to join Miguel on a journey through the afterlife in an upcoming "Coco" themed attraction at Disney California Adventure. Announced with inspiration from the likes of "Haunted Mansion," this attraction, as detailed by Spectrum News, is scheduled for groundbreaking in 2026. Moreover, visitors can expect to face King Thanos in the expanded Avengers Campus, which is doubling in size, featuring new attractions like "Avengers Infinity Defense" and "Stark Flight Lab."

Amid all these fantastical announcements, the Magic Kingdom will twinkle a little brighter with a new nighttime parade, "Disney Starlight," slated for the summer of 2025. It aims to continue the legacy of the "Main Street Electrical Parade," as mentioned by FOX 35 Orlando, weaving stories about Disney's iconic characters into a spectacle of light and magic.
