In the wake of a swiftly escalating social media scare, the Solano County Sheriff's Office worked in collaboration with the Fairfield Police Department to address threats made towards a local middle school. The Fairfield PD initiated the investigation after a student's online claim to "shoot up school" surfaced, putting law enforcement on high alert shortly after midnight, according to the Solano County Sheriff's Office.
Despite the late hour, the Fairfield Police Department proceeded cautiously as they began unraveling the details of a threatening post. Their investigation led them to identify the student involved as attending Suisun Valley K-8 School. Given that the school falls under their jurisdiction, this prompted them to involve the Solano County Sheriff’s Office. By early morning, deputies had located the student in the principal’s office, where they conducted a face-to-face meeting.
The Solano County Sheriff’s Office noted that the investigation ultimately determined that the threat was not credible and posed no immediate danger to students or staff. Throughout the incident, the student and their parents cooperated fully with the authorities. The student was cited and then released into the custody of their parents.
