A Florida woman, Julie Ann Sulpizio, has been arrested and is facing multiple charges, including first-degree premeditated murder of a law enforcement officer. The charges stem from a tragic incident that resulted in the death of Master Deputy Sheriff Bradley Michael Link, 28, and injuries to two other officers, as reported by FOX 13 News. The Lake County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the shooting occurred during an "ambush" at a residence near Eustis.
The events unfolded after deputies were dispatched to a 911 call regarding a disturbance. According to FOX 35 Orlando, Sulpizio allegedly became the prime suspect in orchestrating the August 2 attack. The preliminary court proceedings are set to follow the standard protocol, which among other procedural steps, will seek to quickly and formally advise Sulpizio of her charges.
Conspiracy-theory media and firearms were reportedly found at Sulpizio's home, where the incident took place. The Lake County Sheriff's Office detailed a troubling scene, where Sulpizio was described as assaulting individuals while proclaiming religious judgments, and upon deputies' entry into her house, gunfire rang out, inflicting fatal injuries upon Deputy Link. This information was relayed during a news conference and is documented by WESH.
In a statement obtained by FOX 13 News, Sheriff Peyton Grinnell announced Sulpizio's arrest, which occurred at AdventHealth Waterman Hospital in Tavares, where she also underwent treatment and evaluation. Additional information regarding the deputies' initial response and the subsequent escalation has yet to fully come to light, with further details expected to emerge as the investigation proceeds.
