Six individuals, including four teenagers, were severely injured in a vehicular incident on Thursday evening near the Gerald R. Ford International Airport. The Kent County Sheriff's Office reported the accident took place around 8 p.m. at the intersection of 44th Street and Patterson Avenue SE. According to WOODTV, the four teens were in a car heading south on Patterson Avenue and attempting to turn into the airport when they collided with a northbound vehicle.

The northbound vehicle, which contained two adults, ignited post-collision. As reported by WZZM 13, all parties involved, two adults and four teenagers, were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. The conditions of the injury are severe but no further details regarding their statuses have been released at this time.

The Kent County Sheriff's Office has not yet determined the cause of the accident, and the crash remains under investigation. Assistance at the scene was credited by KCSO to various local departments, including the Kentwood Police Department, the Cascade Fire Department, and Merl's Towing, as mentioned by FOX 17 News.
