A tragedy unfolded on the football field of Franklin High School as a 16-year-old student-athlete, Leslie Noble, collapsed and later died following a medical emergency on Wednesday morning. Noble, a junior guard and standout on the varsity football team since his freshman year, was at practice when the incident occurred, according to FOX Baltimore. A GoFundMe campaign was initiated to support Noble's family with funeral expenses and has since raised over $6,000.

In a statement detailed by WMAR-2 News, Franklin High School's principal, Kieran O'Connell said, "It is with profound sadness that I inform you of the death of a Franklin High School student." The school’s principal conveyed the school's devastation and extended condolences to the Noble family. To address this traumatic event, the Baltimore County Public Schools Traumatic Loss Team will be offering support and counseling for both students and staff members.

Tekeiska Perry, a family friend who organized the GoFundMe fundraiser, shared memories of Noble's persona on and off the field. "Leslie was known for his outgoing personality and his talents on and off the football field. His infectious laughter, his unwavering love for his family and friends, and his bright future ahead of him has been cut short," Perry stated, as per the WMAR-2 News report. Noble's family, as confirmed by his mother, has verified the authenticity of the online fundraising effort.
