The Frederick Police Department is actively investigating a series of shooting incidents that rattled the community over the weekend. Officers first responded to a call at the intersection of Wilson Place and Taney Avenue on Friday night, August 9, after reports of gunshots were heard, as reported by the City of Frederick.
On arrival, they discovered a male victim with gunshot wounds. Officers provided immediate aid until he could be transported to Shock Trauma, according to the city’s official update. The individual is currently being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
While investigations were underway at the initial location, another report of gunshots came in, this time from the 1400 block of Hampshire Drive at approximately 10:53 p.m. Officers located evidence of a shooting, but no victims were found at the scene, as per the City of Frederick.
The night's unrest continued as a third shooting occurred in the 1300 block of Baker Place around 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, August 10. Shortly after officers confirmed evidence of the shooting, a male victim with non-life-threatening injuries arrived at a local hospital.
The police have not released information on potential suspects or motives, but detectives are looking into any connections between the incidents. Residents have been asked to review their home security camera footage for any relevant evidence, as stated by the City of Frederick.
