According to a statement from the Honolulu Police Department, on August 9, at about 3:34 p.m., as the victim was disembarking from a bus, a shooter recklessly discharged a single round into the upper-right chest of the victim. The assailant then made a hasty escape on a blue scooter, manned by an accomplice, heading west.
The first suspect, the gunman, has been apprehended, leaving the authorities in search of the scooter operator, referred to as suspect #2. Police describe the at-large suspect as integral to the attempted murder, having facilitated the getaway. Despite the gravity of the assault, details about the suspect remain sparse, urging a call to action for anyone with a piece of the puzzle to come forward.
