A 75-year-old Hudsonville man was hospitalized in stable condition after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bike in Zeeland Township, officials reported. The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office said the incident occurred near the intersection of 48th Avenue and Ransom Street before 3:30 p.m. Monday.

The man was reportedly biking south in the northbound lane of 48th Avenue and cut across the center line into oncoming southbound traffic, where he was hit by a Honda driven by a 25-year-old Hudsonville man. According to FOX 17, OCSO stated that "the man was thrown from the bike on impact. He was hospitalized in stable condition. The Honda’s driver and passenger were unharmed."

Deputies, who continue to investigate the crash, do not suspect alcohol or drugs to be a factor. WWMT reported that the bicyclist was taken to the hospital to have his injuries treated, details of which have not been disclosed.

Meanwhile, the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office has not released additional information about the circumstances leading up to the collision or whether any citations were issued, as detailed by WZZM 13. The involved parties' names have yet to be released to the public.
