
A middle schooler's morning commute turned harrowing when they were struck by a car while biking to school in Far West Bexar County, officials disclosed.
The accident, occurring near Swayback Ranch and Mill Park around 7:30 a.m., involved a student from John Folks Middle School who was subsequently hospitalized with injuries deemed non-life-threatening, this according to information provided by Northside ISD spokesman Barry Perez and reported by KENS5.
Responding authorities from the Bexar County Sheriff's Office affirmed the driver involved had stopped to give details about the crash and, as of now, will not be facing any charges. The student's parents arrived at the scene shortly after the incident unfolded, with the child being taken to University Hospital for treatment, statement echoed by a News 4 San Antonio report.
